Coming home tonight Hayley spotted a trail of smoke falling from the sky as we went through Emerald. We pulled into the oval near the high school and I got this photo (it’s average, I know, but it was a 15 second exposure and my hands just aren’t that steady). Hard to see but it’s pretty much right in the middle… 6:33pm.

Then when I got to my house, there was a plane flying directly overhead. I jumped the fence into the paddock to get a beter look at the smoke and moon, and by the time I got a decent view, the plane flying over had reached the smoke – and started another trail!! I ran back inside to get my tripod and took the following snaps.

6:51pm.

In this one you can see the two separate trails – one starts at the very top of the photo, the other a bit lower (the higher one was the more recent). 6:56pm.

Same pic with higher ISO. 6:57pm.

Theories welcome.

Deflowering

Posted by KingBean on March 31, 2009 9:22 pm

Okay so I don’t really like the whole ‘blog’ craze but I wanted somewhere to post photos I take regularly, and this seemed like the best way to do it. Blabbing will be kept to a minimum. Most likely just one sentence per photo.

Anyway, this is the first post so here’s a bunch of photos from the month of March 2009. In future I’ll probably not post so many photos at once.

The sun going down over the CBD, from Richmond station. 7:24pm.

A few people I was waiting with for a train home from Parliament station, delayed by 20 minutes due to vandalism. Sick. 12:17am.

Sunday March 29, 2009
Hayley typing. 1:15pm.

A mysterious splattering of blood at Shiprock Falls, Gembrook. 2:23pm.

A dead rabbit that had wasps coming in and out of its eye socket. Sweet. It was about 50-odd metres from the above blood. 2:26pm.

Coprinopsis atramentaria (ink cap). Gilwell Park, Gembrook. 3:42pm.

“It is a widespread fungus and eaten, though it is poisonous when consumed with alcohol – hence another common name, Tippler’s Bane. The black liquid that this mushroom releases after being picked was once used as ink.” How interesting.

We had earlier driven past one that was on a stalk a good 20cm high.

Got into work and this had to greet me. Nothing got pinched thankfully but it was a pain in the arse. 8:40am.
